Presenting: Zodiacs: An Introduction
Hello friends, Shannon of fuckyeahphoto.tumblr.com (coming soon!) here! I’m the “dear friend” of the creator of this blog, and I’m here to submit a few things on Zodiacs! If you don’t know what a Zodiac is, or, alternatively, you don’t know your sign, this is a place for you. More coming later, I don’t want to overwhelm everyone!
Let’s start with the basics. If you want to read up extensively on Zodiacs, I recommend astrology.com VERY highly. A lot of their stuff shall be posted here.
MEANING
The word Zodiac literally means animals and refers to the patterns or configurations of creatures as seen in the twinkling stars at night. The Zodiac belt is the great circle around which our luminescent Sun apparently moves month by month throughout the year, transceiving the energy of those different constellational signs and thereby transmitting the celestial radiations to our Earth.
THE SIGNS
Broadly speaking, the 12 signs of the Zodiac can be divided into both masculine and feminine, positive and negative, or, active and passive. The masculine signs are Aries, Gemini, Leo, Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius, whereas the feminine signs are Taurus, Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn and Pisces.
DATES AND SYMBOLS
Aries (March 21-April 20)- The Ram; Element: Fire; Planets: Mars, Pluto.
Taurus (April 21-May 21)- The Bull; Element: Earth; Planet: Venus.
Gemini (May 22-June 21)- The Twins; Element: Air; Planet: Mercury.
Cancer (June 22-July 23)- The Crab; Element: Water; “Planet”: The Moon.
Leo (July 24-August 23)- The Lion; Element: Fire; “Planet”: The Sun
Virgo (August 24-September 23)- The Virgin; Element: Earth; Planet: Mercury
Libra (September 24-October 23)- The Scales; Element: Air; Planet: Venus
Scorpio (October 24-November 22)- The Scorpion; Element: Water; Planets: Pluto, Mars
Sagittarius (November 23-Dec 22)- The Archer; Element: Fire; Planets: Jupiter, Neptune
Capricorn (December 23-January 30)- The Sea-Goat; Element: Earth; Planets: Saturn, Uranus
Aquarius (January 21-February 19)- The Water-Bearer; Element: Air; Planets: Uranus, Saturn
Pisces (Feb 20-March 20)- The Fish; Element: Water; Planets: Neptune, Jupiter
